ARACON helped with the sale of a medium-sized European firm in the energy sector to a strategic investor. Since the company operated under time pressure, the main challenge was to realise a rapid transaction. After defining a sales strategy and a precise list of criteria for investors, we searched for potential investors and created a long list. The most suitable ones were contacted – initially without revealing our client’s identity – and then supplied with the selling documents including a financial model in case they were interested in acquiring our client.
Since the most promising investors were in China, our local network was of great help in making contacts, organising and conducting management meetings and the final negotiations. Our Chinese team was a decisive factor in finding a strategic investor within the short time available. We accompanied our client until the termination of the transaction, during which the majority stake in the company was successfully sold.
